More Textile Art

I also created this Zentagle drawing which is 6in x6in and then re-created it in fabric as a 12in x 12in art piece.    This was created on a white piece of fabric by stitching the larger design lines in black thread with machine and then using inktense pencils to make some areas black.  I used hand embroidery and beads to create the smaller inner designs of the zentangle.  This will be included in  a group collaboration piece of fabric zentangles created by members of the InFiber Group of Indianapolis.

I recently watched a video on creating "scrappy art" and decided to give it a try.   This is made entirely of bits and pieces of fabric that were left over from other projects.  I arranged them on a piece of muslin, laid a piece of cream colored tulle over the top to keep the pieces in place and then free motion  stitched on the pieces.  I then hand embroided some of the pieces to create more textural interest.

Finished piece is 8 in x 11 in.
